That is an Israeli self-defence method famously used in Elite corps like Mossad, also in FBI, SAS, RAID, SWAT, GIGN. Krav Maga means "close combat" in Hebrew and was developed by Emrich ‘Imi’ Lichtenfeld for the need of the IDF (Israel Defence Forces).
It's based mostly on simple and pragmatic techniques. The point is to use techniques based on our natural instincts. That is not a combat sport, some experts do not even consider it a martial art, It's a self-defense method.
Krav Maga is supposed to be designed for everybody, from a woman of 45 kg to a man of 130 kg.
Quoted Imi means also that the techniques are not specific to a size or gender. Nevertheless, physical qualities matter a lot in a fight and should be developed.
KRAV MAGA SOFIA club workouts are held in English by a French instructor.
The courses at the club started in September 2014 in the downtown of Sofia (Bulgaria). Nowadays the group is mixed gender composed mainly of practitioners without significant martial art or combat sport experience.
First and Unique Krav Maga club in Bulgaria affiliated with the FEKM-RD
It is a good training for the body and mind as well. It separates your thoughts from the daily routine and also helps you to stay fit, while studying interesting and practical techniques. You can go hard or you can go lighter, it is up to you. The atmosphere is friendly and responsive.
I have been going to KRAV MAGA SOFIA regularly for over 2 years now and I am very happy about the course. The drills focus of what it means to prepare you for real situations. I like and that there is generally no “macho” attitude in the group which is probably one of the reason why many women attend. I recommend to anyone who is interested in self-defense.
Great class and really friendly environment, The instructor takes time to explain in details, gives helpful advices and support you all the way. If you want to increase your fitness and learn useful techniques, then this is the place which you are looking for.
The atmosphere in KRAV MAGA SOFIA club is really friendly and easygoing. Cedric is one of the best instructors I have the pleasure to learn from. Before starting Krav Мaga I trained Karate Do Shotokan for 12 years, but now I realise what are the advantages of the street fight techniques. Krav Maga opened my eyes what real self-defence is.
I like friendly environment and well structured program during the training sessions. There is good balance between physical exercises and practical self-defense techniques.
Personally, I am sincerely enjoing the training, which is largely due to the instructor. I find him a very calm, warm and pedagogical person. The variety of techniques and practicing them is fantastic. I appreciate the practical skills which I acquire.
I started training at Cedric more than a year ago after practicing Krav Maga in Portugal and Austria for a while. Our group is the right place to train this system in Bulgaria, and the affilliation to FEKM is a high recognition. Cedric is a competent and well-trained coach and manages to achieve a good balance between the technical and the conditioning part during the training.
